Our
Technology Program
Gholson ISD students enjoy all the benefits of
modern educational technology. Gholson School has a student/computer
ratio of 2 students per computer. This is a far higher ratio than
most schools in the state of Texas.
All
computers are up-to-date, loaded with quality educational software
and are used at all grade levels. Students are also able to safely
access the internet for research. Gholson ISD subscribes to an
Internet Filtering Program, through the CTEN network, that protects
students from being exposed to inappropriate internet sites.
One
of the most impressive aspects of the Gholson Technology Program
is that it was provided at no cost to taxpayers. Federal, state,
and private grants were obtained to pay for all computers and
other equipment. The Gholson administration continues to search
for alternative funding sources to constantly upgrade and keep
our students on the cutting edge of technology.
