For a problem/solution research activity after a short reading assignment about ecosystems, the Eighth grade class was asked to research bugs and create one mutant bug species that would eat the pesky plant poison ivy, thereby solving the itchy, allergy problem.

• First, they used the internet to find plant eating bugs.
• Next, they chose two plant eating bugs to cross.
• Then, after researching those bugs thoroughly, they wrote and typed a paper and drafted a design of their bug.
• Finally, they began their journey as Dr. Frankenstein. These are their unique bug monsters.
