For a final book activity that counts as a test/ project grade, try putting on a book parade (borrowed from Scholastic). We did and the 7th graders had a great time making their floats and putting on a parade for the primary students!

  • First, they chose a book they wanted to read and read it.
  • Next, they chose a scene from the book and sketched it out, listing supplies needed for creating their float.
  • Then, they collected supplies: shoeboxes, wheels and axles, etc. (Our supplies were provided by the teacher).
  • Finally, they put their floats together and paraded them about!
