March 31, 2020 - Important Updates
A few moments ago, Governor Abbott ordered all schools in Texas to remain closed until Monday, May 4th. GISD will continue to provide instructional materials and meal service in the same manner as they have been distributed these last two weeks. Please remember that students are required to complete all work assigned. Also, there may be some instructional materials offered that are technology based. Please know that these type of activities are additional practice and are not mandatory due to limited access to internet service at home. The schedule for the next few weeks is as followed:
Drop off and pick up: Monday, April 6th from 7:30am - 9:30am AND 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Drop off and pick up: Monday, April 13th from 7:30am - 9:30am AND 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Drop off and pick up: Monday, April 20th from 7:30am - 9:30am AND 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Drop off and pick up: Monday, April 27 from 7:30am - 9:30am AND 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Monday - Friday (each week) from 7:30am - 9:30am
*Delivery is available if you are unable to pick up meals
Gholson ISD understands that the extended closure of school may cause a hardship on some of our families and please know that we are here to help in any way that we can. Remember that teachers may be reached via their school email addresses and administrators may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org

Meal Plan Change
Gholson ISD understands that the extended closure of school may cause a hardship on some of our families. Beginning Monday, March 23, Gholson ISD will provide breakfast and lunch to go meals from 6:30 am to 8:30 am Monday through Friday for all children ages 2 to 18 that reside in the Gholson ISD District. However, if your child is not a current GISD student they will need to be present in the vehicle during the pick up for the meals to be given to you.
Please submit this form by Saturday, March 21 by 12:00 P.M. to ensure that we will have the proper amount ready for the week.
Reserved meals will be available for pick up each morning by using the bus drive through lane next to the cafeteria at Gholson ISD. Each day will be manager's choice dependent upon availability for the lunch and breakfast items. Each parent or guardian will be allowed to pick up meals for their children only.
*Please do not ask for meals by email, remind or Facebook messenger- as these comments are sometimes hard to track and we don't want to miss anyone!
Since our shutdown has been extended, if your family is unable to take advantage of our meal service due to transportation issues, please let us know by sending a message to email@example.com. We are considering delivering meals in the future weeks.
