ASVAB Career Exploration Program

Not sure what you want to do after high school? The ASVAB can help you explore your options!

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a FREE career-planning resource designed to help students better understand their strengths, interests, skills, and possible career pathways.

Although many people recognize the ASVAB as a military aptitude test, students do not have to be interested in joining the military to participate. The Career Exploration Program helps students explore many different options after high school, including:

  • College and universities
  • Technical or trade schools
  • Work-based learning and career training
  • Entering the workforce
  • Military careers

Students in grades 10–12 can participate in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. Through the assessment and accompanying career-planning tools, students can identify areas of strength, explore occupations that match their interests and abilities, research education and training requirements, and begin creating a plan for life after graduation.

Does Taking the ASVAB Mean My Student Has to Join the Military?

No. Participating in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program does not require a student to enlist in the military. The program is designed to help students explore their options and make informed decisions about their future.

Students who are interested in military service may also use qualifying ASVAB scores as part of the military enlistment process.
