TSIA: Texas Success Initiative
Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA2)
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment, or TSIA2, is not a college entrance exam. A student may be accepted to a college without a TSI score. Instead, the TSIA2 is used to help determine whether a student is ready for college-level coursework in areas such as Math and English Language Arts/Reading.
Colleges may use TSIA2 scores to help decide which courses are the best starting point for a student. Meeting the college-readiness benchmarks can allow students to begin college-level classes without first being placed in developmental or additional support courses.
TSIA2 is also one way Texas high school students can demonstrate College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) before graduation.
Because this assessment can play an important role in college planning, dual-credit eligibility, and college readiness, Gholson High School provides students with multiple opportunities to take the TSIA2 on campus during the school day.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities and prepare before testing.
