Gholson ISD Testing Window: October each year

The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is a college-readiness assessment offered through the College Board. It gives students an opportunity to practice for the SAT, identify academic strengths and areas for growth, and begin planning for college and future goals.

At Gholson ISD, all 10th-grade students will participate in PSAT testing each fall.

Why Should My Student Take the PSAT?

The PSAT can help students:

  • Gain valuable practice for the SAT

  • Become familiar with the types of questions and testing format used on the SAT

  • Identify strengths and areas that may need additional preparation

  • Receive personalized feedback to help guide future SAT preparation

  • Explore college and career options

  • Begin thinking about future coursework and postsecondary plans

College Board Resources

After testing, students receive a detailed score report that can help them understand their performance and identify areas for improvement. Students can also access College Board resources for personalized SAT practice and college and career planning.
