Bullying
Gholson ISD Is a Bully-Free Zone!
At Gholson ISD, every student deserves to feel safe, respected, supported, and able to learn without fear of bullying or harassment.
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived imbalance of power. Bullying may happen once or repeatedly and can affect a student's physical safety, emotional well-being, relationships, and ability to feel comfortable at school.
Types of Bullying
Bullying can take several forms:
Verbal Bullying
Saying or writing hurtful things, including name-calling, insults, threats, teasing, or inappropriate comments.
Social or Relational Bullying
Intentionally harming someone's reputation or relationships, including spreading rumors, excluding someone from a group, embarrassing someone, or encouraging others not to associate with them.
Physical Bullying
Hurting another person's body or belongings, including hitting, kicking, pushing, tripping, taking or damaging possessions, or other forms of physical aggression.
Bullying may also occur through technology, social media, texting, gaming platforms, or other electronic communication.
See Something? Say Something.
We encourage students, parents, staff, and community members to speak up when they become aware of bullying or other concerning behavior.
If you are being bullied, tell a trusted adult. This may be a parent, teacher, counselor, administrator, coach, or another trusted staff member.
If you witness someone else being bullied, do not ignore it. Get help. Speaking up can make an important difference for another student.
Gholson ISD also provides an anonymous reporting system for students and families who need to report bullying, safety concerns, or other concerning behavior. Please use the reporting link provided below.
If you see something, do something — report it.
